What are...?

Webinars are virtual seminars that provide descriptive informational sessions on a specific topic. Webinar topics vary widely and always incorporate an aspect of engagement, inviting you to learn more about things that specifically interest you. Paid webinars are lecture-focused, specialized topic deep dives presented by experts on the subject matter that last approximately an hour and can be a part of an online course series. Institutional members may access NIRSA's library of webinars at no additional cost. These online learning experiences may be eligible for Continuing Education (CE) Credits.

  • Promising Practices is a type of webinar where professional institutions provide a structured, detailed presentation on innovative forward-thinking practices that have been implemented at their institution. These practices may be in the areas of EDI, management, training, facility design, etc. These online learning experiences may be eligible for Continuing Education (CE) Credits.

Online Courses are focused, multi-part virtual experiences that offer more in-depth exploration of critical areas within the collegiate recreation profession. They are united by a course framework design that allows attendees to leave with in-depth knowledge of a topic, key questions to consider and reflect on, and skills to further disseminate complex information on the topic. The Online Course format may be synchronous and cohort-based or fully on-demand and experienced at your own pace, depending on the content and instructional needs. These online learning experiences may be eligible for Continuing Education (CE) Credits.

Virtual Events are a virtual adaptation of our in-person institutes; a gathering of campus recreation professionals who have particular interest or stakes in a specific area collectively interested in sharing the newest information available. A Virtual Event typically consists of general education sessions, panel sessions, roundtable discussions, in-depth workshops, and general sessions. This is a great opportunity for online networking! These online learning experiences may be eligible for Continuing Education (CE) Credits.

Ideas in Motion are live, peer-led discussions designed for collegiate recreation professionals to connect, collaborate, and grow together. These real-time, unrecorded sessions create a space for open dialogue where you can share best practices, explore challenges, and gather ideas in a supportive and interactive environment. It’s all about learning with each other—not just from each other. We host two roundtables each month on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday - 9am PST/12pm EST - featuring a rotating lineup of timely and relevant topics. Whether you're looking to troubleshoot, get inspired, or simply connect with others in the field, there’s always a place for you.

Association Information sessions are free to members and include leadership recruitment sessions, Regional Connections, Annual Meeting of Members (AMM), and Member Network sessions. They are designed to promote networking and leadership opportunities tied to NIRSA and may be part of a series or standalone information sessions.
