A two-part program designed to help you manage more confidently
You don't have to navigate mid-level management alone. This program combines practical learning, campus recreation situations, applied tools, and a peer cohort to help you lead more confidently now—and build the judgement, relationships and range for what comes next.
This nine-week professional development experience is designed to support mid-level campus recreation professionals as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of leading frrom the middle. Combining self-paced learning, live facilitated sessions, practical application and peer connection, participants will strengthen the skills and confidence needed to lead teams, navigate organizaztional dynamics, solve complex problems, and contribute strategically within their departments and institutions.

- Apply leadership and management strategies to effectively lead teams and navigate the responsibilities of a mid-level role.
- Navigate organizational dynamics and change while balancing the needs of staff, leadership, and institutional priorities.

How much time should I expect to dedicate to this program?
There are a variety of components to this course that you will access from the contents tab within this page after you register.
The live 90-minute kickoff session starts on Friday October 23 from 9-10:30am PST.
There will be 8 additional live 90-minute sessions separated into two session blocks, each occuring on Fridays at 9am PST. Session block 1 is between the dates of October 30 - November 20, 2026. Session block 2 is between the dates of January 8 - January 29, 2027.
Between the live sessions, you will have access to the self-paced program materials.
Who should register for this program?
Professionals currently serving in mid-level management roles and balancing responsibility for people, programs, budgets, operations, and relationships above, below, and across their institution.
Current mid-level managers who want to strengthen day-to-day management practice and build the leadership capability broader responsibility will require.
Eligibility: Participants must currently hold a mid-level management role; length of time in the role does not matter.
What if I miss one of the live sessions?
Participants are strongly encouraged to attend all live sessions, however you will receive access to recordings if you are unable to attend.
