NIRSA is a proud member of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). CAS promotes standards in student affairs, student services, and student development programs to maximize the quality and effectiveness of higher education services. As a CAS Member Association, NIRSA members have free access to the most current version standards for the following:

CAS Standards: Collegiate Recreation Programs
These standards provide a metric for assessing the quality of recreational programs along with offering guidance in planning or revising aspects of recreational programs. They also assist in advocacy efforts to obtain additional resources and assistance with staff training and professional preparation of recreation program specialists. They can aid in informing campus colleagues, administrators, and constituents about the role of recreation programs.

CAS Standards: Esports Programs
These standards provide a metric for assessing the quality of esports programs along with offering guidance in planning or revising aspects of esports programs. They were created to develop standards that are specific to creating, implementing, assessing, and improving existing and future esports programs regardless of functional area in which the program resides. They will aid in developing standards that address student learning, development, and success through esports programs. They will also encourage continued research on the development of best practices for collegiate esports programs research.

CAS Standards: Health Promotion Services
These standards provide a metric for assessing the quality of health promotion services to aid in the development of students and the quality of the academic and living environment. They assist in advocacy efforts to obtain additional resources and assistance with staff training and professional preparation around health promotion services. They can aid in informing campus colleagues, administrators, and constituents about the benefits of supporting health promotion services on campus.
