Define, explore, and escape your comfort zone! Everyone’s comfort zone is different. This presentation will help you define the boundaries of your comfort zone to foster lifelong learning and growth by challenging you to escape your boundaries.

Learning Outcome(s):

  1. Participants will be able to clearly define the boundaries of their individual comfort zones.
  2. Participants will explore the many ways to grow and stretch their comfort zones in an effort to diversify their experiences and perspectives.
  3. Participants will be given tools and resources to challenge themselves both personally and professionally by escaping their comfort zones.

Corrine Pruett

Coordinator for Member Services, Operations, and Student Development

West Virginia University

Corrine Pruett has served as the Coordinator for Member Services, Operations, and Student Development for Campus Recreation at West Virginia University since May of 2019. She received her Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Tourism Management from Central Washington University (CWU) and her Master of Science in Community Recreation Management from the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG). Corrine began her journey in campus recreation while attending CWU as a challenge course facilitator, trip leader, and shop attendant for the Outdoor Pursuits and Rentals program. After taking on the role of student supervisor, she immersed herself in more areas of campus recreation by spending time working in intramural sports, facilities, special events, and student development. Deciding to turn her passion into a profession, she served as the Graduate Assistant of Facilities for the Department of Recreation and Wellness while attending graduate school at UNCG. Over the years, Corrine has developed an understanding of and appreciation for campus recreation as a catalyst for change impacting student success and overall well-being. Corrine joined NIRSA in 2015 and has been involved in many capacities as a conference volunteer, presenter, committee member, and the 2018 - 2019 Region II Student Leader.
